Tercentenary of the Laplace-Runge-Lenz vector

November 23-27, 2011

Please check the 'Programme' page for the schedule !!
This conference is hosted jointly by the Durban University of Technology and the University of KwaZulu-Natal, and will be held in Durban during 23-27 November 2011.

The Laplace-Runge-Lenz vector was first discovered by Ermanno, generalised by Bernoulli and rediscovered by Laplace, Runge and Lenz. The applications of the LRL vector have grown initially from planetary orbits to many applications across modern physics.

The year 2011 is the tercentenary of the LRL vector. Professor Peter Leach is an expert on the LRL vector and its many applications and this conference is dedicated to Peter Leach on his 70th birthday.

Peter is internationally known for his original contributions to differential equations and its various applications. Therefore this conference is broadly focused on applied differential equations and mathematical physics in the many different research areas that Peter had an interest.

We trust that a number of people who have worked with Peter over his career, his many research students, and others interested in the theme of the conference will attend.

If you have an interest then please leave your details on the preliminary registration form. You will then be provided updated information on the conference as it becomes available.

The venue for the conference is:

Salt Rock Hotel
Ballito, KZN
